 |  BKD pulls out as First Indiana auditor First Indiana Corp. said today it is delaying its second-quarter earnings release because BKD LLP has withdrawn as its auditor. The release had been scheduled on July 19. First Indiana announced June 4 that it had booted KPMG LLP as auditor and hired BKD. On July 9, Milwaukee-based Marshall & Ilsley Corp. said it would buy First Indiana. 
Pacers bulk up PR with new contract The Indiana Pacers franchise has hired two public relations and advertising firms to help repair the organization's damaged reputation. The move comes a month after the Pacers brought in local executive James Morris as a special adviser to help President and CEO Donnie Walsh. The local offices of Publicis and Optimedia, both owned by Paris-based Publicis Groupe SA, will provide advertising, strategic planning and communications services, the Pacers said yesterday  | | | |  |
 | | McCordsville council rebuffs Target, retail center A proposal by Indianapolis developer Paul Kite to build a retail center anchored by a Target in McCordsville has been rejected by the community's town council because it's in an area zoned residential. The 63-acre project would have been built at the southeast corner of county roads 1000 North and 600 West in Hancock County, according to the Daily Reporter of Greenfield. "It's the right project, but totally the wrong place," said Councilman Tom Strayer.
Holiday World is top Indiana destination in survey An online poll to promote Indiana tourism has named the Holiday World amusement park as the top travel destination in the state. More than 92,000 votes were cast in the promotion on an Indiana Office of Tourism Web site. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus was followed in the survey by the resorts at French Lick and West Baden Springs and Indiana Beach. 
Dow Jones, Murdoch's News Corp. reach deal Dow Jones & Co., which publishes The Wall Street Journal , and News Corp. have agreed to sale terms, the newspaper reported late last night. Dow Jones' board will meet this evening, although the newspaper said it is unclear how the Bancroft family, which owns 64 percent of Dow Jones' voting power, will react. 

Divers recover body of man at White Rock Park Decatur County deputies say a 20-year-old Cincinnati man drowned Monday evening after diving into a water-filled quarry while swimming at White Rock Park. Divers discovered the body of Nicholas Fangman in 20 feet of water.
State Representative holding property tax forum State Rep. David Orentlicher, a Democrat representing a northside district that stretches into Hamilton County, is holding a forum tonight to seek ideas for improving Marion County's property tax system. The forum is at 7 p.m. at the John W. Hensel Government Center, 10701 N. College Ave.
Baby found in trash may belong to teen Authorities say an Indiana teen gave birth to a baby girl, then threw the child in a Denny's restaurant trash can while vacationing in Anaheim, Calif. Investigators believe the baby's mother is a 17-year-old who officers found outside the restaurant when they arrived. The teen denied the allegations, but officers say her clothing was covered in blood. She could face criminal charges. The child is in good condition. Fox 59 will have more at 10 p.m. | | |  |
 |  5-year-old drowns in Lake Monroe A 5-year-old boy drowned in Lake Monroe on Monday after following his older cousin into deep water. Authorities say the boy's aunt was watching the children but turned away for a moment. The boy, who was not wearing a life jacket, was under water five to 10 minutes.
