BREAKING: SMC to add 275 workers in Noblesville expansion
 

SMC Corp. of America, which makes pneumatic automation equipment for a variety of industries, plans to announce tomorrow that it will move its North American headquarters to Noblesville and add 275 jobs, according to a source familiar with the announcement.

The company's North American headquarters is currently in California.

As part of the expansion, SMC will relocate its Indianapolis operations from 3011 N. Franklin Road to Cumberland Road north of 146th Street in Noblesville.

SMC has 458 workers at its east-side plant. The company employs about 12,000 worldwide in 42 countries.

The company plans to invest $45.5 million in the new facility. Incentives include $4 million in tax credits and $387,000 in training grants.

Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman is scheduled to attend an announcement of the move at noon tomorrow.
