| | Deborah Harry Nov. 24 The Vogue OK, I've been answering the question since I was a teenager, but I'll say it again, for the record:
No, Deborah Harry and I aren't related. ... although that would have been kind of cool, given the parade of hits created by her band, Blondie, as the 1970s turned into the 1980s. "Hey, want to go see my cousin perform at CBGB?" I might ask a particularly attractive fellow teen, thus raising my coolness factor a couple of degrees. But, alas, no genealogical link could be established. Still, it would be great to finally see my alleged cousin in concert when she comes to the Vogue. As far as rock icons go, she's hard to beat. Not only are there such songs as "Heart of Glass" and "The Tide is High" in her Blondie repertoire, there's also a wealth of material from her less-commercially successful solo career. And remember: Harry was the original Velma Von Tussle in John Waters' Hairspray. For more details, click here.
"A Very Phoenix Xmas" Nov. 23-Dec. 23 Phoenix Theatre The highlight of last year's edition of "A Very Phoenix Xmas" was an irreverent ditty called "Don't Eat the Baby" by songwriter Jack O'Hara. That tune is back, but most of the rest of the show has changed. That's the nature of the game with the Phoenix's December tradition, where each year local playwrights are solicited for original, holiday-themed material. We haven't been privy to the content of this production, but such titles as "Christmas on the Island of Recalled Toys" should give you some idea of the spirit of the evening.
Another thing different this year: The cast includes Phoenix Theatre impresario Bryan Fonseca, a man rarely seen on stage except in the "turn off your cell phones" curtain speech. For more details, click here.

| Butler Ballet's "The Nutcracker" Nov. 29-Dec. 2 Clowes Memorial Hall For a town that's be bemoaning the demise of its primary resident ballet company, we sure do have a lot of "Nutcracker"s to choose from this year. This weekend, there's the 25th anniversary of Butler University's production. Music is provided by the Butler Ballet Orchestra with, big plus here, the Indianapolis Children's Choir providing vocal support. For more details, click here.
BB King Nov. 25 French Lick Resort Casino Here in Indiana, the riverboats haven't quite impressed with we-have-to-go-this-weekend blockbuster showroom bookings. For full preview, click here.

| "Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour" Nov. 28-Dec. 2 Conseco Fieldhouse While there are many red flags associated with a show called "High School Musical: The Ice Tour," I'm hopeful because of two very positive signs. For full preview, click here .
This week's contest Turn back if you are easily offended.
Still with us?
Good. Because now you've got a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Lisa Lampanelli, arguably the one comic in America who take the greatest glee in offending everyone. The standard-bearer of the Don Rickles tradition, Lampanelli will be performing at the Murat Theatre on Dec. 1. We're going to pull a random winner for two tickets from those who enter here.
While there, fill in the blank with the name of your favorite performer whose name ends in a vowel. We'll link you to some of those responses next week. By the way, last week we asked you to tell us who the frog you kiss would, in your dreams, turn into. You'll find some of the answers here.
And for the record, last week's winner was Kathy Smith, who scored a family pack of tickets to see "A Year With Frog and Toad," presented by the Actors Theatre of Indiana at the Pike Performing Arts Center.
Continuing "A Christmas Carol" Indiana Repertory Theatre, through Dec. 24
"Roman Art from the Louvre" Indianapolis Museum of Art, through Jan. 6 For more details, click here.
