| 'Morning Mess' lands at Atlanta station The popular "Morning Mess" radio show, which has been pushed out of Indianapolis' WNOU-FM 93.1, will start airing on a Top 40s station in Atlanta early next year. WNOU owner Emmis Communications Corp. last month changed the format on the 93.1 frequency and sold the "Radio Now" intellectual property to Radio One, but its morning team decided to move on. Marco, Shannon and Super Phat Mikey visited the studio during today's morning drive time slot at the new WNOU-FM 100.9 to break the news to their Indianapolis listeners. Their show will begin airing on Atlanta's WSTR-FM 94.1 in January.
Veteran GM abruptly departs WTHR Long-time WTHR-TV Channel 13 General Manager Rich Pegram has left the station. Yesterday was his last day, WTHR spokesman Jeff Dutton confirmed. Reasons for his departure were unclear. WTHR officials would not elaborate, and Pegram could not be reached for comment. "It was a mutual decision between Rich and the company," Dutton said.

| | Goelzer sells business valuation arm Indianapolis-based Goelzer Investment Management has sold its business valuation and corporate financial advisory service unit, Goelzer Investment Banking, for an undisclosed price. The buyer, GBQ Partners LLC of Columbus, Ohio, is an accounting and consulting firm led by former Goelzer professional Robert Stutz.
Lilly Ventures pumps funds into startup HemaQuest Pharmaceuticals, a startup in Newton, Mass., said today it has received $20 million in funding from Lilly Ventures, De Novo Ventures of Palo Alto, Calif.; and Forward Ventures of San Diego. The amount of the investment by Lilly Ventures, the venture capital arm of Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co., wasn't specified. HemaQuest is developing small molecule therapies to treat sickle cell anemia and other blood disorders.
Hot weather, rate increase propel Vectren profit Vectren Corp. reported third-quarter profit of $17.1 million, a 42-percent increase over the same period a year ago. Revenue rose 12 percent, to $381.4 million. The Evansville-based energy company attributed the increases to more air-conditioner use and its first electric base-rate increase in 12 years. Vectren provides utility service to most of the Indianapolis area outside Marion County.
Senate Pro Tem taps Papa as chief of staff David Long, the Indiana Senate's president pro tempore, has hired Barnes & Thornburg associate attorney Jeffrey L. Papa as his first chief of staff. Papa also will be the Fort Wayne Republican's chief legal counsel. Papa, 38, has held several positions with the Senate Republicans. An economics major at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the Zionsville resident also earned a master's degree in economics from Ball State University and a law degree from IUPUI.
HardingPoorman adds two owners HardingPoorman Group, an Indianapolis-based printer, has added Client Service Manager Keith Craig and Human Resources Manager Max Phillips as owners. Existing owners include David Harding, Bob Poorman, Steve Anzalone and Lynne Churchill. Poorman said Craig and Phillips were granted small equity stakes in return for "modest" four-figure investments in the company. Located near 78th Street and North Georgetown Road on the northwest side, the company generates more than $20 million a year in revenue and employs 132.

Colts, Pats put perfect records on the line The NFL's only remaining undefeated teams meet at 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the RCA Dome. Despite being defending champs, the Indianapolis Colts are 6.5-point underdogs to the New England Patriots. In honor of the showdown, Mayor Bart Peterson has declared this "Go Blue Weekend." Colts fans are asked to show off their blue pride. Fox 59 will have more at 10 p.m.
Fishers police trying to catch prowler Investigators in Fishers say they believe a peeping tom has been targeting a Fishers subdivision for more than a year. Police are working with neighbors to catch the suspect, who was last seen this weekend in the Ashwood subdivision near 131st Street and Howe Road. The man is described as tall with a slender build. He's always seen at night wearing dark clothing from head to toe.

| Counterfeit bills hit IU businesses Indiana University police are trying to track down three customers suspected of passing out fake $50 bills at two on-campus businesses. Officers say they confiscated four phony bills Wednesday at the Indiana Memorial Union Starbucks and Burger King.
Gas prices jump The price for unleaded gas has reached well over $3 a gallon at many Indianapolis locations. The national average is about $2.85. Market experts say inflation concerns, rising oil prices and the approaching Thanksgiving holiday are contributing to the latest hike.
