| Expansion to cost $15M, add 1,134 jobs Gov. Mitch Daniels revealed little detail when he told a real estate gathering last week that a major economic development announcement was imminent. But hints of the upcoming announcement are buried in a log of projects kept by the Indiana Economic Development Corp. The log includes a project with 1,134 jobs and a $15 million investment that closed Dec. 13 but has not been formally announced.
Local tech consulting firm to expand Locally based Fusion Alliance said today it plans to spend more than $2 million to expand its headquarters and add at least 110 jobs by 2010. Fusion expects to begin hiring consultants, application developers, Web designers, business analysts and project managers this year. The company is the largest Indianapolis-area Web site developer and software developer, according to IBJ research.

| | Roberts closes Bloomington photography store The unrelenting growth of Internet sales has prompted Indianapolis-based Roberts Distributors LP to shutter its Bloomington store. General Partner Bruce Pallman said the store, located on Kirkwood Avenue near the Indiana University campus, will close Feb. 29 after 12 years in business. It had bled more than $100,000 a year for three years in a row.
Daleville snags finance company expansion Indiana Finance Co. plans to move its Chesterfield headquarters to Daleville and double its employee roster to 90, according to The Star Press of Muncie. The site of the expansion, in Heartland Business Center, is where IBM launched a 200-employee call center this fall. Indiana Finance Co. is the financial services unit of Oak Motors, a used-car company.
WellPoint poised for growth, analyst says Shares of health insurers Aetna Inc. and WellPoint Inc. are likely best positioned to perform well in 2008, while the majority of their competitors will see little change, according to a research note yesterday from UBS Investment Research. Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna and Indianapolis-based WellPoint rely less on Medicare health insurance plans than many of their competitors, giving them an advantage in 2008, said UBS analyst Justin Lake.
Wabash National to supply Con-Way with vans Trailer manufacturer Wabash National Corp. said yesterday that Con-way Truckload plans to buy 1,270 of its DuraPlate vans in 2008. Financial terms were not disclosed. Trailer production is expected to begin in February, said Wabash, which is headquartered in Lafayette. Con-way Truckload, a division of San Mateo, Calif.-based trucking company Con-Way Inc., operates a fleet that includes more than 2,000 DuraPlate trailers, Wabash said.

Infants killed in overnight shooting A shooting on Indianapolis' north side late last night killed two women and two children. Police responded to a call about a possible break-in at a home in the 3200 block of Hovey Street near East 30th Street and East Fall Creek Parkway. Inside, they found Andrea Yarrell, 24, and her 4-month-old, Charlii, dead. Gina Hunt, 24, also was pronounced dead at the scene. A second child died after being rushed to Methodist Hospital. Investigators have not named suspects or a motive. They say a black Chevy Blazer with an Indianapolis Colts license plate may be connected to the shooting. Fox 59 will have the latest at 10 p.m.
Metro police search for suspected molester Metro police are looking for an Indianapolis man suspected of molesting an 8-year-old girl several times over the course of a year. Domingo Catalan, 40, is also suspected of molesting the 8-year-old's little sister. Officials believe Catalan is hiding somewhere on the west side.
