| Steak n Shake stock continues slide Shares of The Steak n Shake Co. have tumbled 20 percent over the last two trading days - driven down, in part, by the company's announcement late Friday afternoon that sales remained weak. The stock trended down throughout the day Friday and shed another $1.30 a share this morning, leaving it at $8.18. It now has fallen 55 percent since hitting $18.10 last February. "They're just in a difficult environment," Conrad Lyon, an analyst with FTN Midwest Securities Corp., said this morning.
Colts land Meijer as stadium sponsor A day after losing to the San Diego Chargers in the National Football League playoffs, the Indianapolis Colts announced an off-the-field victory-another sponsorship deal for Lucas Oil stadium. The team said Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer has signed on as a founding partner for the new stadium, set to open for the beginning of next season.

| | Tipton Hospital mulls deeper ties to Clarian Officials at Tipton Hospital have recommended that the county-owned facility enter into a long-term operating agreement with Indianapolis-based Clarian Health, according to a statement issued by the hospital his morning. Terms were not immediately clear. The hospital north of Carmel has had a working relationship with Clarian for nearly 10 years. The recommendation still must be approved by county commissioners and the Tipton County Council, and must be discussed at a public hearing. Clarian, the state's largest hospital system, has sought partnerships with hospitals throughout the state recently to increase referrals to its main downtown locations: Methodist, Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children.
Legislation aims to scrutinize tax breaks Legislation has been introduced in the Indiana House that would look at the nearly 120 corporate tax breaks now in Indiana code to see if the incentives are improving the economy, reports The News-Dispatch of Michigan City. State Rep. Scott Pelath, D-Michigan City, who introduced the measure, believes tax breaks that haven't created jobs or enhanced diversity in the work place should be removed.
State crying for more registered nurses Demand for registered nurses is remarkably strong across Indiana, a state ranking shows. The occupation is classified as hottest of the "hot" jobs tracked by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Projected demand for registered nurses ranks at the top in seven of 11 regions of the state, the department says. In the other four regions, the occupation ranks second.
