 |  Lilly gains once-daily clearance for Cialis The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved once-daily use of Cialis, the anti-impotence pill made by Eli Lilly and Co., the Indianapolis drugmaker announced today. The once-daily version is a lower dose designed to allow men to have sex at any time between doses. It already has been available in parts of Europe. 
Brazil truck trailer maker lays off 130 workers Georgia-based Great Dane Trailers has laid off 130 workers at its plant in Brazil in west-central Indiana, reports The Tribune-Star in Terre Haute. The company said a downturn in the housing and automotive markets prompted the layoffs at the plant, which employs about 1,000. Great Dane officials expect the market to rebound in the second half of this year. The company also has a plant in Terre Haute; no layoffs are planned there.

 | |  Indianapolis Super Heroes Museum closes A downtown Indianapolis museum that displayed a collection of Superman, Batman and other super hero memorabilia has closed its doors. The American Super Heroes Museum displayed the collection of Dane Nash of Fishers. Nash didn't indicate the reason for closing the museum, which has been shut since Dec. 31. It opened last spring. 
Brightpoint names Latin America exec Wireless device distributor Brightpoint Inc. said today it named Eric Hamburger president of the company's Latin America operations. Hamburger was director of strategy and business development for Motorola Latin America Mobile Devices since 2003. From 2001 to 2003, he served as an engagement manager for McKinsey & Co., primarily focusing on developing and implementing sales and distribution strategies for wireless operators in Latin America.
GramTel acquired by Cincinnati Bell South Bend-based GramTel USA Inc. has been acquired by Cincinnati Bell Inc. for about $20 million. GramTel, which was a unit of Chicago-based Jordan Industries Inc., provides disaster recovery, data backup and related services. In early December, Cincinnati Bell acquired Carmel-based eGix Inc. in a deal valued at $18 million. 
Bankrupt Evansville metal-plating firm closes Miller Plating & Finishing LLC in Evansville closed at the end of the year after a struggle with bankruptcy, according to the Evansville Courier & Press. About 90 workers lost jobs at the company, which focused on plating and polishing metal. Miller sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and then filed Chapter 7, placing its assets under a trustee. The newspaper was unable to reach company officials for comment.
Randolph County officials reject livestock rule County commissioners have rejected an ordinance that would have turned much of Randolph County into an agricultural district open to massive livestock farms. Commissioners yesterday voted 3-0 against the ordinance recommended by the county's planning commission. 
Correction A story in yesterday's IBJ Daily about a new mutual fund contained an incorrect figure. Auer Growth Fund will invest in stocks of companies with market capitalizations greater than $100 billion.

 |  Flooding causes emergency situations Heavy rain between Indianapolis and the Chicago area caused flooding today along the Tippecanoe River, forcing evacuations in Monticello, Blue Water Beach and Diamond Point in White County. Carroll County residents living below the Oakdale Dam were urged to leave their homes as officials worked to declare a flooding emergency. Fox 59 will have the latest at 10 p.m.
North-side standoff ends peacefully A standoff on the north-east side ended peacefully after negotiators convinced a man who they say was holding his girlfriend hostage to surrender. Police arrested Ramara Wilburn, 40, on charges of felony battery and intimidation. A SWAT team was called to the scene at 2305 W. 64th St. after Wilburn initially refused to surrender to police.
Indy sees 3rd, 4th homicides of the new year Indy Metro Police are investigating two deadly shootings. A 30-year-old man was shot yesterday evening in the 800 block of West 29th Street on the north side, and police are investigating the death of Emmanuel Jenkins, 23, who was shot in the back near 4015 Mall Way near East 40th Street and Post Road. Police are searching for two suspects in that case.
General Assembly back in session The general assembly returns to session today. The hot topic for lawmakers is the property tax controversy. Leaders hope to find a solution to the problem before the session ends in March.

 |  Nat City Center nabs Veolia Paris-based utilities giant Veolia Water has reached an agreement to move its North American headquarters into the 16-story National City Center downtown. 
Convention president pushed for expansion Bob Bedell is retiring from the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association, leaving someone else to fill the expanded Indiana Convention Center and 1,000-room hotel to be built over the next two years. Bedell supported both projects. 
Running with the bigs Retired Olympic distance runner Bob Kennedy and business partner Ashley Johnson have grown The Running Co. to compete with mall giants Dick's Sporting Goods, The Finish Line and Foot Locker.
