EnerDel to create 850 jobs
EnerDel, the Indianapolis company that's developing lithium ion batteries for cars, plans to create 850 jobs across the state by 2012, Gov. Mitch Daniels announced today.

Some of the jobs will be at the company's headquarters on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Other positions will be located in Noblesville and the rest will be at a to-be-selected manufacturing site somewhere in Indiana.

The company is owned by Ener1 Inc., which recently moved its headquarters to New York City from Florida.

The state promised the company $7,125,000 in tax credits and $58,000 in training grants.
