Fifteen of the 20 Indiana financial services firms put on the list by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Sept. 18 have seen their shares drop. The SEC banned short-selling because of concern that speculators were unfairly punishing financial shares.   Full Story

The NCAA is based in Indianapolis, while the others selected for the new Championship City program are Cleveland, St. Louis, San Diego, San Antonio and Cary, N.C. NCAA president Myles Brand said yesterday the "bundling of events" would enable the NCAA and the cities to provide operational and economic benefits that individual championships couldn't provide on their own. Biden credited Democratic nominee Barack Obama for calling Republican John McCain and offering to work together to address the financial crisis. But Biden says one condition of the deal must be that "not one thin dime" go to reward Wall Street executives.
