PriorityListTitle

Pilobolus
Feb. 23
Clowes Memorial Hall
At last year's Academy Awards, the shape shifters from this acclaimed dance company transformed themselves into representations of the nominated films (for a reminder, click here).

See for yourself what they can do in plain sight. For details, click here.

"Proof"
Feb. 22-March 15
Theatre on the Square
A few seasons back, the Phoenix Theatre beautifully staged this Pulitzer-Prize winning play about a woman sorting through what she inherited, psychologically, from her brilliant but troubled father.

As a last-minute substitute for a production that fell through, Theatre on the Square now has a go at the show, with exec director Ron Spencer playing the father.

This one is certainly a play worth seeing once ... if not twice. For more details, click here.

American Shakespeare Center
Feb. 25-March 2
Various locations
Not only is the Virginia-based American Shakespeare Center bringing to Indianapolis productions of three of the Bard's great plays, it's also hosting workshops and discussions during its brief residency at IUPUI.

The highlights include public performances of "Henry V" and "The Merchant of Venice," which will carry a modest $10 ticket charge and be held at the Christian Theological Seminary. (Alas, "The Taming of the Shrew" only will be offered to high school students.)

The core scene from "Merchant" also serves as centerpiece for "Shakespeare in the Courtroom," featuring a panel of professors and activists. For more details, click here.

ArtsWeek at IU
Through March 1
Various locations in Bloomington
I could just tell you about Cardinal Stage Company's "O Lovely Glowworm," which looks to be one of the theater events of the region this year.

I could share my intrigue about "The Body Politic - Dance Performances in Sites that Shape Our Lives."

Or I could say that an election year is the perfect time to catch "One Nation Under Blog," a revue by the Second City touring company.

Instead, though, I'll encourage you to check out all your choices here and then commit to a road trip.

This week's contest
This week, win tickets to see Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Patti Austin, who will be performing at Clowes Hall on Feb. 29 with Jazz Band of America, a coming together of musicians from 10 states.

The event is part of the Music for All National Festival. For more information on the fest, click here.
All you have to do for a chance at winning is fill out the form here. We'll pull one winner at random.

While filling out the contest form, tell us your favorite Pat, Patti or Patrick. Why? No reason. But we'll print some of the responses.

By the way, last week, we asked for your favorite French person, place or thing (in celebration of French violinist Virginie Robilliard performing with the Ronen Chamber Ensemble). Responses are here. And congratulations to Linda Broadfoot, who won tickets to that concert.
