 |  Rolls-Royce narrows site choice, report says Two sites in the U.S. and one international site are finalists for a new Rolls-Royce plant, according to The State of Columbia, S.C. One domestic site is in Greenville, S.C., the newspaper reported, quoting a Greenville city councillor. Indiana is one of eight states originally under consideration. Rolls-Royce spokeswoman Mia Walton would not comment on the story. 
Talk of driver defections hangs over IRL While the focus over the weekend at Chicagoland Speedway was on another in a series of IndyCar championship battles going down to the wire, the underlying buzz was provided by word that Dario Franchitti and others might leave to join NASCAR's Nextel Cup series in 2008 and beyond.

 | |  15 used cars stolen from Adesa lot Police are looking for 15 cars stolen from a used car storage lot operated by Carmel-based Adesa Inc. Bartholomew County Sheriff Mark Gorbett says the cars were taken over the weekend from the Adesa Auto Sales lot in Taylorsville, about 20 miles south of Indianapolis. 
Health care premiums rise 6.1 percent Health insurance premiums paid by workers and their employers rose an average of 6.1 percent this year, outpacing inflation and pay increases and taking a bigger chunk out of family budgets, according to a new survey. Premiums for employer-sponsored health insurance for the average family topped $12,000-with employees picking up about one-fourth of that cost-although the increase in premiums slowed for a fourth straight year. 
House sales forecast to drop 8.6 percent Sales of existing homes in 2007 are forecast to drop 8.6 percent from the previous year, a trade group for real estate agents said today. The revised monthly prediction from the National Association of Realtors calls for U.S. existing home sales of 5.9 million in 2007, down from 6.5 million last year. The forecast is worse than last month's prediction of a 6.8 percent drop. 
Weaker economic growth is predicted Strained by an ailing housing market and credit woes, the economy in 2007 is expected to log its worst growth in five years and should be somewhat sluggish next year. The No. 1 risk, though, is that the economy will lose its footing altogether and fall into a recession, forecasters say. A forecast released today by the National Association for Business Economics puts the growth of gross domestic product at 2 percent for this year. 
Chicagoans give Macy's piece of their mind Macy's Inc., which has three Indianapolis department stores, is still fighting a stubborn public relations battle in Chicago, where it bought Marshall Field's two years ago and renamed the local legend Macy's. More than 100 people marched Sept. 9 to ask people living in Chicago to boycott the department store until Macy's changes the name back to Field's, according to Bloomberg.

 |  Indianapolis remembers 9/11 The city of Indianapolis and the United Way of Central Indiana are remembering the 6th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks today with a community fair. There will be 150 charities and agencies on Monument Circle to recruit volunteers and share information about what they do. Also today, the 6th annual America Remembers memorial to honor local heroes takes place at the Rathskeller Restaurant, 401 E. Michigan St., at 3p.m.
Hoosier soldier killed in Iraq Military officials say Army Cpl. Ryan Woodward, 22, of Fort Wayne, died Sept. 8 after he was wounded by small arms fire near Baghdad. Woodward joined the army in February 2006 and had been awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Woodward is survived by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

 | Two weeks later, Ohio family claims Powerball prize A retired auto worker from Ohio and his two adult children have claimed the $314 million Powerball jackpot after waiting two weeks to step forward. Hoosier Lottery officials say the family took the cash option on the prize from the Aug. 25 drawing. The winning ticket was bought at a Speedway convenience store in Richmond, along the Indiana-Ohio line.
